SL-PreK-Mem-Verse-ButtonWelcome to Scripture Lady’s Free Memory Verse Activities for Preschoolers

Can a preschooler really memorize a Bible verse? You betcha! Here at ScriptureLady.com we love to create Bible memorization activities for preschoolers. One of the best ways children can memorize the Bible is through Bible verse songs. I LOVE putting Bible verses to music. My motto is: “If you sing it, it will stick!” My own daughter had a very difficult time with memorizing anything, especially Bible verses. But once she put them to music, my daughter was off and running with the rest of the class and earning all the Bible verse awards.

There are other ways to help get God’s Word into the hearts and minds of your preschoolers. It just takes a little creativity and a desire to have some fun! Many of these Bible memory verse activities for preschoolers can be used with any Scripture. The rule of thumb for picking out a Bible verse for little ones to memorize is make it short. Most are not ready to learn a lengthy Scripture. I also suggest that you display the verse in big letters on a poster with a picture or pictures that relate in some way to the verse. Hold it up to your children so they can easily see it as you read it.

Reciting Bible verses with children can also be fun. Usually I will say, “Let’s read our Bible verse together. I will say some words first and then you repeat after me.” This method encourages the first steps toward reading and places their focus on the Scripture. You could also have the children say the verse in different voices such as in a Mickey or Minnie Mouse voice or the voice of a big huge giant. Be creative and have the kids come up with some of their own ideas.

Finally, if you have a love and respect for God’s wonderful Word, your preschoolers will be off to a great start for cultivating a love for the Bible too!

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

Psalm 119:105
