I consider it a great privilege to introduce the Bible and its truths to preschoolers. I love to see them light up with joy during a preschool Bible lesson. As I always say, a preschooler is not going have a mature understanding of God’s Word and His truth, but the goal at this age is that they become familiar with the Bible.

The Bible time ideas for preschoolers presented here will introduce your little ones to such truths as “Jesus loves children,” “the Bible is made up of many wonderful stories,” we can grow in Jesus,” “we can praise God,” and “we can learn from people in the Bible about God.”

When presenting the Bible to preschoolers, it’s important to do so by using things that they are already familiar with. For example, in “God’s Colorful Word”, you are encouraged to find Scriptures that contain color words such as “Make the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, …yarn…”  (Ex. 26:1) You can then make a long “rope” of colorful fabrics and stuff them inside a closed shoebox. Cut a circle out so that the fabric “rope” can easily be pulled out for all of the colors to eventually show. Read one Scripture at a time and let a child pull the “rope” out of the box until he/she finds the color found in the Bible verse. Your little ones are learning their colors, so they will have fun learning that God’s Word is full of color too.

Such everyday things like animals, numbers and even their ABC’s can be a great starting point for sharing the Bible. God wants little ones to know that He loves them and that He cares about the things they care about. These preschool Bible time ideas will help them begin to learn this truth!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not by works lest any man should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9
