Scripture Lady’s Bible Story Games: 1 – 2 – 3 Creation! – Teaching the Seven Days of Creation

The Scripture Lady loves creating Bible story games! Here is one called “1 – 2 – 3 Creation!” to teach the seven days of creation.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…And God saw that it was good.” (Gen. 1:1, 10)  God’s creation is amazing!  And whether or not you side with a literal 6 days of creation or an expanded version, we all know that God’s work is an incredible testament to His power.

Every child should know the seven days of creation.  Here is a fun game that will help your kids memorize what happened on each day.  It’s called “1 – 2 – 3 Creation!”  Just follow the directions and you are in for some fun.

Bible story games will help your children learn God’s wonderful stories in a fun way and for this one you will need to do the following:

First of all, you will want to study creation, which is found in Genesis 1-2.  Give your kids quick and easy statements that summarize God’s work on each day.  For example, you might say the following:

Day 1 – God created light. (Gen. 1:3)
Day 2 – God separated the waters from the sky.  (Gen. 1:6-8)
Day 3 – God created land and plants.  (Gen. 1:11-13)
Day 4 – God created the sun, moon and stars.  (Gen. 1: 14-19)
Day 5 – God created fish and birds.  (Gen. 1:20-22)
Day 6 – God created land animals and man.  (Gen. 1:24-31)
Day 7 – God rested.  (Gen. 2:2)

Now write the numbers 1 through 7 on slips of paper and place them in a bucket.  Pick a child to be “IT”.  The rest of the class will stand on one side of the room at a starting line.  The child who is “IT” will come and pick a number out of the bucket.  He must make sure that only he can see the number.  He then will count off the number he picked followed by the word CREATION.  For example, if he picked the number 5, he would say, “1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 CREATION!”  The rest of the class will walk forward on each of the numbers that are yelled out, but on the word CREATION, they must freeze.  Whoever freezes in position the fastest (teacher’s call) gets to be the next person to be “IT” as long as he can say what happened on the number of day “IT” called last.  So, since the number 5 was called, the first frozen child would have to say that on day 5 God created fish and birds.

Keep playing the game till everyone has had a turn.  Have fun!
