Play Jesus was Human and Divine – a Bible game for elementary kids in your home or classroom when you want to add some fun to your Bible lesson.
Jesus was Human and Divine is a type of Bible game that I call a Bible Categories game. During the game, the kids have to decide from various scriptures whether or not the verse shows that Jesus is human or divine. Humanity and divinity are the two categories.
It is hard for us mere mortals, if not completely impossible, to understand that God came to earth as completely human while still being completely God. How great is His love for us that He:
“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:6-8)

What to prepare for Jesus was Human and Divine – a Bible game for elementary kids:
For this game, I am giving you printable cards. The first page of cards gives 5 divine attributes of Jesus and 5 verses that prove these characteristics. The second page of cards gives 5 human attributes along with Bible verses for each one.
I am also giving you backings for each of the 2 categories of cards. Therefore, you will want to take each attribute card and back it with the appropriate Human or Divine title. Once all the cards have their backings, mix them up and place all 10 cards in a bucket or hat from which the kids will pick.
Lastly, I am giving you a page that gives 2 more category cards that you can place on a pocket chart or bulletin board or table. Under these cards, the kids will place the attribute cards.
How to play Jesus was Human and Divine – a Bible game for elementary kids:
Divide your class into 2 teams and assign one child per team to be the one who looks up the Bible verse when asked to do so. A new child will be given the chance to be the Bible reader for each new turn of the game. Give each team a Bible. Have a child from Team One come forward and pull an attribute card out of the hat and hand it to you, the teacher.
Read what is on the card including the Bible verse reference. On the word, “GO!” the assigned person to read the Bible verse in each team must look up the Bible verse. It is up to you whether or not you want to allow the rest of the team helps the Bible reader find the verse. The first Bible reader to find the verse must stand up and read the verse. If he has found the correct verse, he gets 100 points for his team.
Place the card that was read under the category card you placed on a pocket chart or bulletin board. This will be a visual reminder that Jesus was indeed both human and divine when all the cards have been placed there.
That’s it! It’s a simple game that teaches an important truth.
