Clothespin Banners Bible Memory Verse Game

Clothespin Banners Bible memory verse game will give your kids a fun way to review Bible verses that they have been memorizing.

Don’t you think delivering information Graphically makes it easier to learn? Play the Clothespin Banners Bible memory verse game with your kids to help them remember the Bible verses they have been working on in school or at home.

When was the last time you saw a clothesline? It used to be you couldn’t step foot into any self-respecting backyard and not see at least one line of rope cascading between two poles. Where have they all gone? Try looking in a Sunday School room! Maybe you’ll find one there.

At least you would find one in my Sunday School class, but mine would not be adorning clothes, it would be hanging up Bible verses. You too can have your classroom sport a great clothesline and a great way to learn Bible verses. Just follow these instructions for a Bible memory verse game of “Clothespin Banners” to get your kids on their way to learning God’s amazing Word.

Clothespin Banners Bible memory verse game will help your children hide God’s Word in their hearts and for this one you will need to do the following:

What You Need: a clothesline (best to pick a colorful piece of rope), clothespins, several triangles cut from construction paper of various colors that are about 5” x 8”, and a jar or a bucket big enough to drop a clothespin in.

Set Up: Hang the clothesline somewhere appropriate in the room. You could hang it on a wall or between two chairs for example. On each triangle, write the Bible reference for 3 to 5 Bible verses you have been working on. For example, maybe John 3:16 has been a verse you’ve been tackling. Go ahead and write “John 3:16” on one of the triangles. Do the same thing with the rest of the references. I suggest at this point that you laminate your triangles for long-term use. Next, go ahead and pin each triangle up on the clothesline. Now, pinch 2 clothespins somewhere else on each triangle. And finally, place the jar on the floor somewhere in the room near your game area.

How to Play: Divide your class into two teams. Explain that you are going to test how well they know the verses that match with the references listed on each of the triangles. Pick one child from a team to go first. They get to go up to the clothesline and take off one of the clothespins off of any one of the triangles. They must then say the Bible verse that goes with the reference. If they say it correctly, they get 100 points for their team. They then have the chance to earn another 100 points for their team if they are able to drop the clothespin into the jar that is sitting on the floor. (For added fun, have the child stand on a chair so they are dropping it in from a higher level.) If they do not succeed at dropping it in, the clothespin just stays sitting on the ground. If the team member does not say the verse correctly, the clothespin gets reattached to the triangle it came from and no points are earned. The other team is up and the game continues until all of the clothespins hanging from the triangles have been taken off. The team with the most points wins.
