The Scripture Lady loves creating Bible memory verse games! Here is one called “Bop ‘n Pop” to make memorizing Scripture fun.
What child does not like balloons? And of course, it’s even more fun to pop them! So, why not combine the fun of popping balloons and God’s amazing Word to have a terrific time with this memory verse game?
Bible memory verse games will help your children hide God’s Word in their hearts and for this one you will need to do the following:
For this Bible memory verse activity, called Bop ‘n Pop, you will need to divide your class into two equal teams. For each team you will need to provide them a trash bag filled with blown-up balloons that each contains one word of the memory verse you are working on. For example, if you chose Romans 3:23: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, you would need a total of 12 balloons for each team. These words should be written on a small piece of paper that is then rolled up and inserted into the balloon before blowing it up. You may or may not want to include the Bible reference, which would make it 13 balloons.
Now have one child from each team go to the other side of the room about 4 – 5 yards away. These two children will be holding the bag of balloons for their teams. When you say, “GO!”, each of these children will quickly reach into their bag and pull out a balloon and “bop” it over to their teammates. Someone from their team should catch it, then sit on it in order to get the piece of paper out that has the word from the Bible memory verse. The child holding the bag may not “bop” another balloon to their team until the previous balloon gets popped. The first team who successfully lines up the words to their Bible memory verse in order is the winner!
