“Peter and John Heal the Lame Man” Poem and Song is a creative retelling of the true story in the Bible from Acts 3. I included this fun song in one of my most recent sermon videos that gives a lesson about the Holy Spirit.
Teaching our children about the Holy Spirit is an essential part of Christianity simply because the Holy Spirit IS God. Our children need to understand as soon as possible that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the trinity. They need to learn that Holy Spirit can work through them to carry out God’s plans in their lives.
The video that I recently created introduces the Holy Spirit to children in 3 creative ways.
- They learn about the true story of when God used Peter and John to heal a lame man through my original Bible song.
- They learn that the Holy Spirit will fill their lives with His sweet and good gifts when they believe in Jesus through a fun Bible object lesson.
- And they learn that they can sing and pray and dance in the power of the Holy Spirit just like David did long ago with my good puppet friends, Jack and Jill.

Make sure to take a few minutes to look at the video up above. In it, you will see me present my Bible story song of “Peter and John Heal the Lame Man.” It’s a fun song that I think your kids will enjoy.
Today, I want to provide you with a fun activity that can be shared while saying, or even singing, the Bible story poem of “Peter and John Heal the Lame Man.” This activity uses some simple visuals that you can cut out and then place on a flannel board or magnetic board as you tell the story.
I have provided you 6 pages of cut outs. I suggest that you print the pictures on to cardstock so that they will last longer. Then cut out each picture and back them with either flannel or magnets if you choose to use either of those kinds of boards.
I have also provided you with slides that show the progression of when to show each picture. You will use some pictures more than once, but there are no duplicates except for the 2 columns for the gate.
Finally, I have provided you with the poem from which you can read while sharing the pictures. I have bold faced the words in the poem as cues for the pictures to show.
