Here is a fun Bible review game – Fill Up Noah’s Ark: Noah’s Ark for Preschoolers
Have you ever taken the time to think how crowded Noah’s Ark must have been…not to mention, smelly? God sure did have a unique way to preserve mankind and all the animals from the flood. Filling up that ark must have taken quite a bit of work and a lot of help from God. Here is a fun Bible story game for the presentation of Noah’s Ark for preschoolers through about second graders that will help them get an itty bitty feel for what it was like to herd in all of those animals. It’s called “Fill Up Noah’s Ark!”
Here’s what you do: This game is a lot like “Bingo”. You will need to create 3 or 4 different boards that have 5 to 6 pictures of different animals found in the Bible. Make sure each child gets their own board and it’s alright if there are duplicates. I created my boards on my computer, but you could also do it by cutting out pictures from old magazines or books. Once you have your boards, make sure you laminate them so that you can play the game many times over.
The next thing you need to prepare are some index cards. One side will list a Scripture that contains the name of one of the animals you placed on the picture boards. The other side will have a picture of the animal mentioned in the Scripture. Here is a list of some Scriptures that I chose to use:
1. Daniel 8:5 – “As (Daniel) was thinking about this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between his eyes came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground.”
2. Judges 7:5 – “So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the LORD told him, ‘Separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink.'”
3. Jeremiah 13:23 – “Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.”
4. John 12:14 – “Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written…”
5. Genesis 8:8 – “Then (Noah) sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground.”
6. John 10:11 – (Jesus said,) “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
7. Judges 15:4 – “So (Samson) went out and caught three hundred foxes and tied them tail to tail in pairs. He then fastened a torch to every pair of tails…”
8. Genesis 41:1-2 – “…Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing by the Nile, when out of the river there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed among the reeds.”
9. Leviticus 11:29, 30 – “Of the animals that move about on the ground, these are unclean for you: …any kind of great lizard, … the monitor lizard, (and) the wall lizard…”
10. Exodus 7:10 – “So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.”
Once you have your index cards prepared, place them in a bucket or hat. Finally, provide each child with some kind of markers to cover the pictures on their boards. You might want to give them pennies or simple squares of paper.
Explain that you will pull out a card from the bucket. You will read the Scripture and the children must listen carefully for the animal that is mentioned. After reading the Bible verse, ask a child to shout out the name of the animal. Show the other side of the index card to reveal if his answer was correct. Everyone who has that animal on his or her boards should then cover it up. Tell the children that the first one who covers up their entire board and yells, “Noah’s Ark!” first, is the winner.
Have fun!
