My God is So Great Bible Song with Jack and Jill Puppets: A fun rendition of this classic Bible song will delight your children as they sing along with Jack and Jill!
My God is So Great Bible song has been a favorite of children for decades. It’s a sweet song with a powerful message and great for your next puppet ministry time.
The lyrics go like this:
My God is so great! So strong and so mighty!
There’s nothing my God cannot do.
The mountains are His. The rivers are His.
The stars (or skies) are His handiwork, too.
My God is so great! So strong and so mighty!
There’s nothing my God cannot do.
I have always loved this song and have included it in my “God Gives Me Power” programs for both preschool and elementary. But…instead of me just singing it, I sing along with my good friends, Jack and Jill.
Take a look at this video of Jack and Jill learning about how great God is and then ending their time by singing the “My God is So Great” Bible song.

In addition to letting you view this fun video with Jack and Jill, I am giving you a fun game that pairs perfectly with the “My God is So Great” Bible song. I call it “My God is So GREAT!”
“My God is So GREAT!” is a matching card game that will be perfect for your elementary readers. This game declares how great our God is through different adjectives that start with the letters G-R-E-A-T. For example, God is Good, Remarkable, Eternal, All-powerful, and Truth.
What you will need to play:
A stopwatch or some way to keep time.
A scorekeeper.
5 bags or buckets. Each will have a large letter on the front so that, when all are placed in a row, all 5 spell out the word GREAT.
The following 5 sets of cards. Make sure your writing does not show through to the other side when they are turned over:
For the letter “G,” you will need to print out 8 cards as follows. On the front of each of these cards, write the letter “G”:
GOOD GOOD
GRACIOUS GRACIOUS
GLORIOUS GLORIOUS
GENTLE GENTLE
For the letter “R,” you will need to print out 8 cards as follows. On the front of each of these cards, write the letter “R”:
RADIANT RADIANT
REMARKABLE REMARKABLE
REIGNS REIGNS
RESTORES RESTORES
For the letter “E,” you will need to print out 8 cards as follows. On the front of each of these cards, write the letter “E”:
ENCOURAGING ENCOURAGING
ETERNAL ETERNAL
EXCITING EXCITING
EXTRAORDINARY EXTRAORDINARY
For the letter “A,” you will need to print out 8 cards as follows. On the front of each of these cards, write the letter “A”:
ADMIRABLE ADMIRABLE
ALL-KNOWING ALL-KNOWING
ALL-POWERFUL ALL-POWERFUL
AMAZING AMAZING
For the letter “T,” you will need to print out 8 cards as follows. On the front of each of these cards, write the letter “T”:
TERRIFIC TERRIFIC
TREASURE TREASURE
TRUSTWORTHY TRUSTWORTHY
TRUTH TRUTH
How to play the game:
Divide your class into 2 teams.
Place each set of cards face down on a table or on the floor. Each set should be with their own corresponding letter. Mix the cards up so that it is difficult to make a match as explained below.
Pick 2 children from Team #1 to start the game. One child will stand at one end of the room or designated area holding the first bag or bucket of “G.” The other child will be ready to try and match the word cards as fast as possible when the time keeper says, “GO!”
How to make a match: The child can only turn over 1 card at a time and there can only be 2 cards showing at one time in the attempt to make a match. If the 2 cards do not reveal a match, the cards have to be turned over and 2 more cards are turned over. Once a match is made, the child takes the 2 matching cards and runs them over to the teammate holding the bag. He places them in the bag and then switches places with the first child. Now this child gets to run to the card table and he tries to make the match. Once again, the children swap places and the play repeats until all 4 matches have been made. Of course, the 4th and last match will be easy.
The goal of the team is to fill their bucket as fast as possible.
The scorekeeper will write down the time it took for Team One to finish. Now it is Team Two’s turn.
The game is played in the same way for each letter in the word, “GREAT.”
