Jack and Jill Sing the Golden Rule Song PLUS Kindness posters will help your kids become more acquainted with one of the most famous verses in the Bible – the Golden Rule.
The Golden Rule comes from Matthew 7:12, which says this: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I have been able to share this great verse in my preschool program called “The Golden Rule.” Through creative music, Bible storytelling, object lessons and puppetry, the children learn the important lesson of doing unto others what they would like others do unto them.
The children especially like watching Jack and Jill learn about the Golden Rule. Jack and Jill are my beloved puppet friends and during this skit, they are learning that their hearts need to be in the right place when sharing the Golden Rule. For example, Jack learns that he needs to be kind and loving to Jill, even if she is not kind and loving to him. Jill learns this same truth about Jack.

During my “Golden Rule” program, we play a game that helps the children learn how to use the Golden Rule within their families.
I especially talk to them about being kind. When they are kind to those in their family, prayerfully, those in their family will be kind to them. That’s the Golden Rule!
Today, I want to give you the posters that I use for this game that show 5 different ways that your children can show kindness to the people in their family. Each printable page showcases 4 duplicate pictures of an act of kindness. Print off one act of kindness page for each child. I have also included a “Kindness Award” page. Print this off as well and attach it to the back of the act of kindness page. Now, cut along the lines of each act of kindness page. You will now have 4 duplicate cards backed by pieces of the “Kindness Award.”
Here is a fun activity you can try with the “Kindness Cards”:
Pick a set of kindness cards that you want your children to work on each week. For example, let’s say you choose “Giving a hug.”
When you see the child act out “giving a hug” to someone in the family, have them take one of the four cards and display it on the fridge or bulletin board to show that he has earned one piece of the “Kindness Award.” Continue to watch for other times the child gives a hug and reward them with another piece of the award. Once the child has earned all 4 pieces to the award, give them a special treat and congratulate them for showing kindness and the Golden Rule.
