The Scripture Lady loves creating Bible memory verse games! Here is one called “Camel Rider Race” to make memorizing Scripture fun.
Have you ever ridden a camel? I haven’t myself. I can only imagine sitting on top of a large hump could get rather uncomfortable. Sometimes, memorizing a Bible verse can feel pretty uncomfortable as well. But I bet if you tell your kids that they are going to run a “Camel Rider Race” to play this memory verse game, all discomfort will disappear.
Bible memory verse games will help your children hide God’s Word in their hearts and for this one you will need to do the following:
Divide your class into two equal teams. Give each team a ball that is about 8 – 12 inches in diameter. I use beach balls. The ball is the “camel’s hump”. Have the first child on each team place the ball between their legs. On the word, “GO!”, the children
with the balls must run as fast as they can to the other side of the room. This should be about an 8 to 10 yard distance. Once they arrive to the other side, they must recite their memory verse to a designated listener. (Each team should have their own listener.) If the child successfully says their verse correctly, they are allowed to take the ball away from between their legs and run back to their team. They pass the “camel’s hump” off to the next child in line and the game repeats until everyone in the line successfully says their Bible memory verse. If the child does not say their verse correctly, they must return to their line with the ball still between their legs and must get at the back of the line to try again. The first team to have all their kids say the Bible memory verse successfully, wins.
And just think, at least you don’t have to worry about a real camel spitting at you!
