The Sweetness of the Holy Spirit Bible object lesson by The Scripture Lady is a fun way to share about the Holy Spirit and the sweet gifts He wants to give to each of us.
The Sweetness of the Holy Spirit Bible object lesson is a creative way to share how the Holy Spirit works in our lives when we believe in Jesus Christ. This object lesson uses the easy to use magic effect called “Candy Factory.”
I really love sharing this Bible object lesson to both preschoolers and elementary kids. It’s a great lesson that shares the love of God. It’s also a great opportunity to introduce God the Holy Spirit to children who aren’t as familiar with this part of the Trinity.

In this article, I would also like to share one of my favorite verses in the Bible about the Holy Spirit and the hope that God gives to each of us who believe in His Son Jesus. The verse is Romans 15:13, which says: “May the God of hope fill you with His joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Several years ago, I wrote a song for Romans 15:13. I love how this verse talks about hope. Teaching the concept of biblical hope to children can be a little tricky. Kids often see hope as a wish rather than a “sure thing.” Hope in the Bible always points to that which is sure and concrete.
Take a look at the moves to this great Bible verse with the song that I wrote:

One of the greatest hopes every Christian has to look forward to is Heaven. While most children have their whole lives ahead of them, it is never too early to tell them about Heaven and all the joy that awaits them there.
To help you teach your kids about the hope of Heaven, I am providing you with 6 posters that spell out the word HEAVEN. Each poster will be a part of an acrostic for HEAVEN giving a Bible verse that points to a characteristic of Heaven.
You can use these posters with preschoolers and elementary kids in the following ways:
Preschoolers
Show the children each of the pictures of Heaven. Have them spell out the letters of HEAVEN along with you. Go over each of the characteristics with language they can understand. I have given you some dialogue below each letter that you might want to share with your young children.
Elementary Kids
Show the children each of the pictures of Heaven. Have the kids look up each of the scriptures. Encourage them to expound on each of the verses and give their thoughts about what each verse means.
H – Home with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8)
Each of you has a home where you live. Some of you live in a house. Some of you might live in an apartment. In other parts of the world, some boys and girls live in the jungle among the trees and animals. Every home is different. Heaven will be the greatest home you will ever have. Heaven will be your home with Jesus.
E – Eternal (Titus 3:3-7)
The word eternal mean that something lasts forever. (Hold up a flower.) Will this flower last forever? (Wait for response.) No. This flower will not last forever. But the Bible says that Heaven will last forever. Heaven will be your forever home with Jesus.
A – Always with God (Revelation 21:3)
Can you see God with your eyes right now. (Wait for response.) No. We can’t see God with our eyes right now, but when we go to Heaven we will get to see Jesus face to face and we will always be with God.
V – Very amazing (1 Corinthians 2:9)
What is the best place you have ever been? (Wait for response.) Wow! That sounds like a really special place you got to see. Did you know that Heaven will be more special and more amazing than the place you told me about? In fact, the Bible says that we have never seen anything as amazing as Heaven and that we can’t even imagine in our minds how beautiful it will be.
E – Endless joy (Psalm 16:11)
Raise your hand if you like to laugh…or giggle…or be happy…or be joyful. (Wait for response.) I like to be joyful, too! Did you know the Bible says that Heaven is going to be a place full of joy? Heaven will be so full of the joy of knowing and being with Jesus that we will never be sad again.
N – No more death, or crying or pain (Revelation 21:4)
I remember when I was young like you, It seemed I always had a boo-boo somewhere on my body. My mom always had a Band-Aid ready to put on my cut or scrape. She would also hold me when I cried to help the pain go away. One of the best things about Heaven is that we won’t ever cry or be in pain again. In fact, no one will ever die in Heaven and our bodies won’t ever get hurt again.
