Bible verse games are great for preschoolers too! Here is one on Psalm 150:6 called “Roll, Whistle, Praise.”
When was the last time you praised the Lord? I hope it was recently because Psalm 150:6 says this: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” So, if you are breathing, you have the honor and privilege of praising your amazing Creator. I have a fun song for this Bible verse and I love sharing it with the little ones because I always start my presentation of it by asking if they can breath. Of course, they look at me with quizzical faces and I continue to say that I want to make sure that they know how to breathe. I then ask them to breathe in and then breathe out. They have lots of fun “proving” their breathing skills. Here is a fun Bible verse game that will help your preschoolers learn the important truth of Psalm 150:6. It’s called “Roll, Whistle, Praise.”
Here’s what you do:
Bible verse games are fun and for this one you will need a large die. I always use one I’ve made from an 8-inch square box. I then go onto my computer and print off colorful numbers one through six and attach them to the sides of the box. You will also need a whistle.
How to play:
You will let a child roll the die. Whatever number is rolled will be the amount of whistles you will blow. The children should listen to how many whistles are blown because this is how many times they will all shout, “Praise the Lord!”
Two Extra Options:
1. You might allow the children to blow the whistle the correct number of times. Just wipe the whistle off with a wipe each time.
2. Write the numbers one through 6 on a board so that you can point to each number each time they shout “Praise the Lord!”
Before playing this Bible School activity, you may want to introduce it in the following way:
Can you guys breathe? (Wait for responses.) I want to make sure. Let me hear you breathe in. (Wait for response) Now, let me hear you breathe out. (Wait for response.) Wow! You guys really can breathe! Do you know what the Bible says? It says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Since you can breathe, that means that you can praise the Lord. Let’s give it a try right now and shout, “Praise the Lord!!!”
After this little intro, explain the rules to the game and have fun!
