David Thanked God for Everything: A Downloadable Bible Game for Young Children

“David Thanked God”  is a fun and creative way to introduce the idea of being thankful to God.

I often play this game during one of my Thanksgiving chapel program and this will be a great addition to your own Christian classroom or home.

How to Download the Files

1. RIGHT click over the name of the file you want to download and you should be given the choice of where on your computer you want to save the file.
2. Once the file is saved to your computer, you can now locate where you saved it then print it as you desire.

Best Practices for this Bible Game for Preschoolers

1. Print the pictures on card stock and consider laminating them for long term use.
2. There are two pictures each for “prayer,” “joy,” and “our bodies.” Place a paint stick between the 2 pictures to create a poster. Attach the label to each paint stick. For the “Bible” and “earth” posters, I just printed 2 each of these pictures and stuck them back to back to create their posters.
3. Take the slides and create a Power Point presentation or print them off and showcase them on an easel or on your lap so that all your children can see them.
4. Choose one of your verses to read out loud. After you read the verse, help the children figure out who is holding the picture that matches with what David is thanking God for in the Bible verse. Have that child come forward and stand next to you and encourage the class to say something like this: “David thanked God for the earth! Thank you, God!”  Continue with this form of play with all the verses that you chose. Have fun!
5. Finally, encourage your young children to think of other things that they can thank God for. Look around your classroom or home and have them shout out things they see that they are thankful for by saying, “Thank you, God, for (fill in the blank)!”
