A Bible Story Song for Ruth by The Scripture Lady

Writing this Bible story song for Ruth and her love for Boaz was very fun. I love introducing children to all the great Bible characters that God has blessed us within His Word. Try singing this song with your children and help them learn more about Ruth and Boaz and God’s great plan for them both.

The story of Ruth and Boaz and their love for each other is such a beautiful picture of God’s redeeming love for us. And while this Bible story song for Ruth only touches the tip of the iceberg in its meaning of this story and the blessings it holds, it is a great way to introduce your children to this wonderful woman of God.

When I performed this Bible story song for Ruth, you will see in the sample video below that I used Steve Axtell’s Magic Drawing Board. I turned my board into my “Talking Bible Story Board” and I often use it to share the stories of different Bible characters.

Take a look at this sample video to see a LIVE presentation of the Bible story song for Ruth:

Here are the lyrics to this song:

(Knock, Knock)

SL: What is that sound?

(Knock, Knock)

SL: Boys and girls, do you hear a knocking?

Ruth: (Hello! Anybody out there?)

SL: Oh! It’s my talking Bible Story board and a Bible character is trying to visit us!

(Go over and open up the Bible.)

SL: Well, hello! Who are you?

Ruth: My name is Ruth and I’m in love

I’m in love! I’m in love! I’m in love!

With my kinsman redeemer, Boaz.

I’m in love! I’m in love! I’m in love!

What a wonderful smile he has.

SL: Oh my! That’s exciting! What is his name?

Ruth: His name is Boaz. (Sighs) Isn’t that a beautiful name?

SL: It’s different.

Ruth: It’s a special name and I love him!

SL: How did you meet…Boaz?

Ruth: Oh, my. That is quite a story.

SL: We’d love to hear it.

My story is filled with ups and downs.

It begins far away in Moab.

I’m the daughter-in-law of Naomi and Orpah’s my sister-in-law

One very sad day all our husbands died.

We cried and we cried and we cried.

Then our friend and our mother Naomi said,

“Go back to your homes or you’ll die.”

SL: That’s awful, Ruth! I’m so sorry your husband died.

Ruth: Thank you, dear. But now….

I’m in love! I’m in love! I’m in love!

With my kinsman redeemer, Boaz.

I’m in love! I’m in love! I’m in love!

His eyes are the color of topaz.

SL: Did you go back home to your family?

I said to Naomi, “Don’t make me leave

And go back home from where I came.

I’ll stay where you stay and I’ll go where you go.

Your God will be my God.

So Naomi and I started traveling back to her Bethlehem town.

But when we arrived we were tired and poor.

There was no food to be found.

SL: Wow! Moving somewhere new can be difficult.

But I’m guessing Bethlehem is where you met Boaz?

Ruth: (Sighs) Oh, Boaz!

I’m in love! I’m in love! I’m in love!

With my kinsman redeemer, Boaz.

I’m in love! I’m in love! I’m in love!

He struts around with such pizzazz.

SL: He does sound wonderful. But how did you meet him?

In order to have enough food to eat I went to a nearby field

I gleaned and I gathered wheat for each day.

The Lord was faithful indeed.

The field where I gleaned was special.

It belonged to Boaz, you see.

He was part of Naomi’s family and therefore could marry me.

I’m in love! I’m in love! I’m in love!

With my kinsman redeemer, Boaz.

I’m in love! I’m in love! I’m in love!

His favorite food is sea bass.

SL: She’s in love! She’s in love! She’s in love!

With her kinsman redeemer, Boaz.

She’s in love! She’s in love! She’s in love!

May you have many lasses and lads!

Ruth: It’s wonderful to be in love and it’s funny that you mention children, because eventually our Lord and Savior Jesus would come from my family with Boaz.

Well, I must be going now. I think I hear Boaz calling. I just love when he says my name. Goodbye, dear!

SL: Goodbye, Ruth!
