Kids love to solve mysteries! Use these Bible story picture clues to help them learn and remember some of the best loved stories in the Bible such as Noah’s Ark and Jesus walking on the water.
The Bible story picture clues that I am giving you below will hopefully inspire you and your children to learn more about each of the 12 stories from the Bible. Each story proclaims the goodness and power of God in their own ways. Include this fun Bible activity during your next devotion or children’s ministry time.
Here’s how to use the Bible story picture clues:
I have provided you with 12 Bible story picture clues. Six are from the Old Testament and six are from the new testament.
Each picture is separated into 4 parts. You will see that parts of the picture are covered up revealing a clue to the whole picture.
Print all the pictures and place them in the order that I have given.
If you’d rather, you could also use all the pictures and create a great Power Point slide presentation.
You will also need to print off the Bible story title cards. Cut the title cards along the lines. Place these on a table or on a pocket chart so that they are easily accessible.
How to play the Bible story picture clues activity:
If you have printed off all the stories, place them in order on your lap.
Divide your class into 2 teams. Pick a child from Team One to play the activity.
Show the first picture of the first story and have the child go over to the titles and see if she can guess the title of the story by picking up one of the titles. If she guesses correctly on the first try, she earns 300 points for her team.
If she guesses incorrectly, then show the second picture which reveals more of the story. Once again, the child tries to make a guess. If she guesses correctly, then she only earns 200 points.
The child gets one last turn if she guesses incorrectly. Show the third picture, which reveals more of the story. Once again, the child tries to make a guess. If she guesses correctly, then she only earns 100 points.
Show the final picture that reveals the full story. If the title was still not guessed correctly, then point out the correct title.
Play again with a child from Team Two.
Suggestion for playing the Bible story picture clues activity:
- I have provided you with extra titles. This can make it harder for the children to guess correctly.
- Only give one guess per showing of each picture.
- You could set a timer between guesses. This always adds a bit of excitement.
- You may or may not want to give some verbal clues with each picture.
- You may want to place a blank sheet of paper between each set of pictures, so that the first picture of the next story is not revealed until you are ready to do so.
Have fun!
