A Song for the Temptation of Jesus Bible Story for Kids

A song for the temptation of Jesus Bible story for kids is a perfect way to introduce this great story of God’s power.

Sing a song for the temptation of Jesus Bible story for kids to help them learn that Jesus defeated all the temptations of the devil when He was in the wilderness. Through the power of God, we can have victory over temptations in our life, too.

It’s almost October 31st and that means many kids will be pulling out their costumes to join in the Halloween festivities. As Christians, we do not celebrate Halloween. But this time of season can give lots of great opportunities to share how God wants His light to shine in the midst of a season that can become quite dark with ghoulish costumes and dark belief systems.

The story of the temptation of Jesus is a great story to share during this season. There is no one darker than the devil himself. Jesus had to face the devil and conquer 3 huge temptations. Did Jesus win the battle? Of course, He did! Jesus is the Victor!

But how did Jesus gain the victory? He did it through the Word of God. One of the greatest verses from this story is when Jesus proclaims, “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” (Matthew 4:4)

Jesus knew the power of the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. He knows that “…the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Jesus wants us to let His Word be our very bread that strengthens us to fight the battles of temptations in our lives. As parents and teachers, we need to hold up the Word of God to our children with all the honor that it deserves. We need to be an example to them by spending time reading the Bible and letting it become our life-giving sustenance.

Today, I want to lead you to 2 fun games for your elementary kids to help them grow in their own love for the Bible. One game is called the “Big Great Grab Bag.” The other is called “Bible Character Password.”

Big Great Grab Bag

I love object lessons and using props to get my kids thinking about the Bible.  It’s great how everyday things can spark our memory of a Bible story or certain Scripture.  Here is a fun Bible Scripture game I think your kids will really enjoy.  I call it “The Big Great Grab Bag” or “BGGB” for short. Click HERE to learn how to play.

Bible Character Password

I love trying to figure out a good mystery.  Maybe I should have been a detective.  Trying to guess what a clue points to can be very fun.  Here is a fun Bible school activity I think your kids will like that has a reminiscent feel to the old TV show game of Password where clues are given in order to reveal the hidden word.
