Creating Creation – A Fun Preschool Bible Game | The Scripture Lady

by | Mar 11, 2012 | Preschool Bible Activity, The Blog

Preschoolers love rolling dice, and they love watching a big, colorful scene come together right before their eyes. “Creating Creation” gives them both, all while learning the true story of how God made our world!

Bible games for kids will bring the story of Creation to life in a hands-on way, and for this one you will need the following:

  • 10 laminated pictures each of birds, fish, trees, flowers, and animals (a quick online image search will give you plenty to choose from)
  • A large poster with a simple
  • landscape — land and water, plus a sun, clouds, mountains, and even Adam and Eve if you’d like
  • A die
  • Tape or poster putty to attach the pictures to the poster

After introducing the seven days of Creation to your class, choose a child to roll the die. Whatever number comes up, connect it to that day of Creation. For example, if a child rolls a 3, point to the Creation poster and say, “On Day 3, God created the land, the sea, and all the plants — and they were very good!”

Next, let the child choose one of the picture categories and add that many pictures to the big Creation scene — say, three birds for a roll of 3. Celebrate each turn with something like, “Good job, Nathaniel! God did a good job too when He created the world!”

Keep going until every child has had a turn, and watch the poster fill up with all of God’s wonderful creation right before their eyes.

A couple of things that will help this game go smoothly: start by asking the kids what their favorite animal or flower is that God created — it gets their minds going before you even begin. And if you have a bigger class, keep a few extra pictures of each category on hand so you don’t run short.

I love watching a class Creation poster fill up turn by turn — there’s something so sweet about little hands adding “their” piece of God’s world. This one never gets old!
